Determining if Dyknow is on a student’s device
- Student Chromebook:Dyknow is pushed out by the Information Systems department. You can determine if Dyknow is installed by having students login into Chrome Once in Chrome, you can select the puzzle icon and you should see the DyKnow extension
- Student MacBook Air: Dyknow is pushed out by the Information Systems department. You can determine if Dyknow is installed by looking at the menu bar. The menu bar is located at the top of the screen. If Dyknow is installed on the student device, you should see an image like the one below towards the right hand side of the screen.

- Use Lab Google credentials to login
- Your classes should automatically be there
- Take and Monitor a students device- Did the previous teacher forget to end their session and you now want to monitor a student who is in your class. Learn how to bring that student into your class.
- Run a DyKnow Health Check:Is a student in your class but not showing on your DyKnow screen? Solve this problem with this article from DyKnow.
Grade Level / Department Level Ideas
- Building questions banks for your class - Build question banks with ease by using this knowledge base article from DyKnow. Please keep in mind you can build them ahead of a lesson or during the lesson itself.
- Building blocking plans (5:42) - Learn how to build a blocking plan before even starting your class for the day. Another method that will be demonstrated in this video is how to build blocking plans while in the class.
- Segmented Blocking Plans (4:09)- Discover how you can take your class and divide it into two different learning opportunities for students using DyKnow and segmented blocking plans.
- Creating School Wide Blocking Plans - Think that the blocking plan you just created could be used by someone else at your grade level or in your department. Consider creating a school wide blocking plan, to create one of these plans reach out to:support@ucls.zendesk.com
- Adding co-teachers - Follow these directions to add a co-teacher into your course. This could be used for classroom support teachers, learning and counseling, and a variety of other purposes. It should be noted that the teacher must be in PowerSchool to be added. If you cannot find the teacher in DyKnow, please reach out to: support@ucls.zendesk.com
- Multi Teachers Monitor a Class - Explore the possibilities of having multiple teachers monitor the same class. This option is great for differentiating or creating stations in your classroom where students have to complete different assignments throughout a given amount of time.
Student Instructions
- Student Chromebook: On a school issued Chromebook, students will simply have to login with their UCLS email address and password. From there, Dyknow will become activated
- Dyknow on the Student MacBook Air ( 1:16) On a school issued Mac, students will login in with a generic student account. Once logged into the computer a window from Dyknow will appear. Students should enter their Google email address and password. After this information has been entered, teachers will be able to monitor students' work by logging into the Dyknow website. To see this in action, watch the video to gain an understanding of how DyKnow will work on student issued Mac devices.
